Why it's interesting
Anthropic is planting FDEs in Germany — a Munich req that wants a native German speaker with 8+ years customer-facing engineering, framed explicitly as "one of our founding FDEs" for the region. The DACH enterprise market (finance, pharma, industrials) is where European AI budgets actually sit, and staffing a local-language FDE there is a sharper signal of Anthropic’s enterprise intent than another SF posting. Comp isn’t published on the EU req, unlike the US bands.
The role
Applied AI team Forward Deployed Engineer at Anthropic based in Munich, embedding with strategic DACH enterprise customers to ship production applications on Claude models — MCP servers, sub-agents, and agent skills — with white-glove deployment support. Wants 8+ years in a technical customer-facing role (FDE, or software engineer with consulting experience; former technical founders encouraged), native German with fluent English, production LLM experience (advanced prompt engineering, agent development, evaluation frameworks), and strong Python.
