What Doppel actually defends against
Doppel is an agentic social-engineering-defense platform: it analyzes 1B+ indicators a day across domains, social media, ads, email, telco, dark web and crypto, links them into a threat graph to surface whole campaigns, and automates takedowns — median under 10 hours. Named customers include OpenAI, Coinbase, Notion, BlackRock, Shopify and United Airlines. It is one of the first security companies to stand up a real product-building FDE org.
The FDE job is integration engineering
This is enterprise plumbing, not LLM glue. You build customer-facing applications and AI-powered automations, then wire Doppel into customers' stacks through APIs, webhooks, identity providers (OAuth/SAML/SCIM) and SIEM/SOAR platforms — and you troubleshoot the enterprise auth failures that come with it. Python is preferred. The role reads engineer, not solutions consultant.
Prototype-to-product scope
Doppel explicitly frames the seat as shipping end-to-end solutions that can become core platform features. You run several customer projects at once, coordinate with engineering and product, and turn field feedback into the roadmap. For an engineer who wants to see their deployment work generalize into the product rather than stay a one-off, that is the draw.
The AI angle is real, not decorative
Doppel worked with OpenAI to fine-tune models on thousands of its security analysts' decisions, producing an agent that triages and neutralizes threats autonomously; it says operations-team efficiency doubled within months of deployment. FDEs build on top of that agentic layer, which is why 'AI application development / LLM APIs' shows up as a nice-to-have rather than the whole job.
Funding, traction and the risk profile
Doppel raised a $35M Series B in May 2025 led by Bessemer (with a16z returning), $54.4M total at a reported $205M valuation. Since its early-2024 Series A it cites 400% enterprise-customer growth and 3x ARR. That is a scaling function, not an experiment — with standard growth-stage tradeoffs: real traction and equity upside, less settled process than an incumbent.

Software. The core work is building customer-facing apps and integrations — APIs, webhooks, OAuth/SAML/SCIM, SIEM/SOAR — in Python, plus troubleshooting enterprise auth. It is engineering with heavy customer contact, not a solutions-consultant seat.
Do I need a security background?
Security experience helps, but the hard requirements are strong production software engineering and enterprise identity/integration knowledge. Comfort with enterprise and non-technical customers matters; AI/LLM app experience is a nice-to-have, not mandatory.
